February 2, 2025 (Evening): FAPEL's 30th Anniversary and Awards Banquet

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando East-UCF Area

This year we are celebrating 30 years of FAPEL.  We will begin with an Awards Banquet in celebration of FAPEL’s third completed decade on Sunday evening (February 2nd).  It will be a sit-down dinner and awards/recognition ceremony to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando East-UCF Area. It will include a tribute to FAPEL Past Presidents. More details regarding the banquet will be sent to participants who register for the event.

University of Central Florida Teaching Academy

FAPEL Annual Spring 2025 Meeting

The meeting will be held in-person at the University of Central Florida, College of Community, Innovation, and Education, Teaching Academy.  The conference theme for this year is “Renewing our Commitment to Public Education.” The Spring 2025 Meeting is scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m. with the President's Welcome, introduction of the FAPEL Board of Directors, FAPEL Sponsors, and FDOE updates.

SPRING 2025 MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:

 Florida Deans Panel:  The panel will feature deans sharing their views of the direction of education in Florida, the challenges for Colleges of Education, and what educational leadership programs and professors should be considering as we plan for the next four years. 

Sharing of Best Practices: Responding to the FELS Implementation Breakout Sessions: FAPEL members will share how their universities responded to the implementation of the FELS. 

 Professional Learning:  There will be opportunities for FAPEL members to participate in professional learning breakout sessions focused on well-being and Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

NOTE: An agenda including session details will be shared with registered participants.

REGISTRATION:

The Annual Spring Meeting is open only to those with current individual memberships or institutional memberships. If you have not yet enrolled for the 2024-2025 school year, instructions are at the bottom of this email.

Registration Fee (which includes Sunday Banquet and Monday Meeting): $60

There are multiple options for you to pay via debit card, credit card, or Zelle, or personal check. These details will be provided in the registration form.

LODGING INFORMATION: 

Lodging will be provided by the Double Tree Orlando East/UCF at a group rate $139/tax. including Breakfast Buffet February 3, 2025. Please make your lodging arrangements as quickly as possible. If you are planning to attend the FAPEL 30thAnniversary and Awards Banquet, we recommend you arrive for check-in by 5:00 PM on Sunday Feb. 2.  If you indicate that you will need lodging, the link will be provided on the registration form.

Attendees will have until January 17, 2025, to secure their reservations. The sooner you register for the meeting and book your room, the better. There are a limited number of rooms available.
